Leaf by Leaf is the debut single from Pavey Ark. It is the first single from their debut EP (Leaf by Leaf EP) which is due for release late April.

Leaf by Leaf is a song about Hull, the 2017 city of culture. It’s about optimism and regeneration. Its a city thats’s constantly improving bit by bit, at it’s own pace. It’s about ignoring the negative press, enjoying our time in the spotlight and making up for the times were been overlooked and under-reported. It’s a song about their home.

Pavey Ark are an alternative acoustic band from Hull, the 2017 UK city of culture. Their sound is hard to define and hard to get out of your head. Fingerpicked guitar, atmospheric vocals and violins glide like migrating birds over melodic bass lines and complex percussion. The result is a beautiful folk inspired sound that makes you wish you were gazing out to sea next to a bonfire of your worldly possessions.

The band played their first gig in February 2016 but were soon making waves beyond Hull with festival bookings throughout the UK including 2 stages at Glastonbury and a headline slot at the sublime Festival 8.

Pavey Ark are new to the scene but build upon the success of singer-songwriter Neil Thomas. His debut solo EP was described as “One of the outstanding EP’s of the year” by BBC Introducing and received national airplay with the BBC and Amazing Radio.

Influences such as Nick Drake, Jackson C Frank, Radiohead, Rodriguez, Love and The Walkmen have inspired Pavey Ark’s debut EP, due for release in April 2017.
